Búzios Kitesurf School

We are the first kitesurfing school in Cabo Frio and Búzios. We give classes and help train kitesurfers since 2002. We are located in the best area of Praia Rasa for learning, where the waves are much smaller and the wind enters in a position that favors the lessons. We have formed more than 6 thousand students over 20 years of work, our experience makes learning stress-free, where the student learns while having fun in a safe way and with proven professionalism. We have Certificate issued by the International Kiteboarding Organization.

Our instructor is very experienced (20 years teaching) and fluent in English. The price includes: lessons, equipment (kite, board, helmet, harness, life jacket and radio communicator), space in our private parking lot, shower and restrooms.

Payment methods: Payment for all courses is made in advance. We accept wise, debit and credit card and offer 10% discount for bank transfer or cash payment.

Courses

​

Basic Course (10 hours) R$ 2.800

With 10% discount: R$ 2.520​

The student learns to control the kite in the neutral zone (landing and takeoff), to do the body-drag exercise with constant speed, within the wind window and at the correct height. In this phase we also learn to redeploy the kite and walk safely through the sand. Finally, we will learn how to calmly enter the board to make an efficient water-start and start sailing. Instructions are also given for learning to control speed and go upwind. In the theoretical part we learn how to assemble the equipment, safety rules and how the wind window works.

After assembly and knowledge of the equipment, where all the mechanisms of the control bar and the correct handling of the kite are explained in detail, practical classes begin with a small training kite (1 to 3 meters in size). As soon as the student demonstrates control and understanding of the exercises given by the instructor, we move on to classes with 4-line, inflatable and traction kites. In this first contact, the emphasis is on exercises in the neutral zone of the wind window, with the student learning, in practice, how to take off and land a kite, without fear and always safely.

The next step is to master the traction kite in areas of the wind window that have pressure and learn the techniques needed to fly a kite as it drags us. These are the body-drag exercises, which will be done with kites of different sizes until the student demonstrates complete confidence and control in their movements.
The course ends with the student learning to calmly get on their board and, with determination, take their first sails.

Intensive Course (6 hours) R$ 2.000

With 10% discount: R$ 1.800

This course is for those who have already taken the basic course and want to continue learning. Now we are going to improve our waterstart, control our speed in strong winds, learn to go upwind in any situation (strong or light wind), take our first jumps, sail with two-way boards or surfboards without handles. For those who want, we can already learn the first freestyle tricks at this stage, doing maneuvers like the back-loop, among others.

Weekend Special (4 hours) R$ 1.350

With 10% discount: R$ 1.215

For those who are in town only for the weekend.

4 hours of classes in two days, for one student, only with reservation and advance payment.

Introduction Class (2 hours): R$ 670

With 10% discount: R$ 600

Terms and conditions:

Attention: Lessons are scheduled in order of request and only after registration in one of the courses. If you have already chosen your course and intend to take classes with us, the recommendation is to request payment details so that we can start the scheduling logistics.

Our courses are only for those who can return to Búzios if necessary to finish classes. We do not give refunds, the student must be available to finish the course within a period of 2 years (24 months).
